WECLOME TO 3ROCK!
3ROCK is a passion project/music blog run by some kid in suburban Minneapolis. Its name is inspired by the dearly departed Triple Rock and is meant to represent what was, celebrate what is, and look forward to what's next. The site sets out to accomplish a couple things:

For one, it provides info on local community spaces, music venues, and record stores in the Twin Cities (and greater Minnesota, but the Twin Cities are really my wheelhouse!) mostly to connect the scene with great local businesses and promote/highlight safe spaces for our community, but also partially to prove that Minnesota isn't just the buttfuck middle of nowhere midwest—we have some awesome spots, you just have to look in the right places.

The site also hosts a growing list of local punk and punk-adjacent-but-who-really-cares-about-labels bands. If you've got the attitude, who's to say you're not punk? Rules for being on the list are fast and loose, which is to say that I don't really give a shit as long as you're cool. I'm always adding stuff, but if you want to submit your band, you can do so on the bands page. Minnesota's punk scene is severely underrated. Our music scene in general is underrated. It's super important to show up for your neighbors if you can and support/cultivate this community, and I hope that having an easily accessible list of artists to discover can act as someone's "in" to the scene, or maybe introduce you to your new favorite band.

If bloggy, self-indulgent articles are your thing, the artist features page is where you can read all about both local, and not-so-local acts. Typically album/single reviews, new and old releases, whatever I’m feeling that day. But, definitely an emphasis on new stuff. Hit me up and I’ll give your music a spin.

More indulgent rambling can be found on the show reviews page. I’ll be over there waxing poetic about live music, as any self-respecting concert junkie should (and will).

Finally, the gallery is exactly what it says on the tin: a bunch of show photos dumped in one place for your viewing enjoyment. Or mine.

Take a look around the place if all this sounds up your alley! If you’re interested in contributing to the site, or just want to chat, head over to the contacts page and pick your poison.
